Free classes designed to help family members and professional health care workers provide quality care for aging Oregonians will be offered in Madras and Bend, from March through April.
The courses are designed for a variety of caregivers, including those working specifically in the health care profession, as well as family members helping coordinate or provide care at home for a loved one.
Paid and unpaid caregivers, family members, health care administrators, public safety workers, social workers, and members of the public are encouraged to attend.
A variety of classes are being offered through June 30. The schedule of classes in Central Oregon is as follows:
Living with Middle Stage Alzheimer’s – For Caregivers, March 19, 1:30-4 p.m., at the Jefferson County Senior Center, 860 S.W. Madison Avenue, Madras.
Understanding Medication in Older Adults Part 2: Care Team Principles, March 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Red Lion Hotel Bend, 1415 N.E. Third Street, Bend.
Living with Middle Stage Alzheimer’s – For Caregivers, March 26, 1:30-4 p.m., at the Jefferson County Senior Center, 860 S.W. Madison Avenue, Madras.
First Responder Training – Alzheimer’s, April 22, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, 63333 West Hwy. 20.
Living with Late Stage Alzheimer’s – For Caregivers, May 6, 1-2:30 p.m., at Partners in Care, 2075 N.E. Wyatt Court, Bend.
